英國當局宣布，由6月29日起，持BNO簽證者「根據個別情況」或可獲得社區住宅或無家者支援。是次政策調整，相較之前強調「不會取得公共資金項目」，已經係由零到一，為移英港人提供一道生活保障。
當局預料，新政策在未來5年可以惠及2,400人至15,000人。英國內政部今年2月曾表示，BNO簽證開放頭5年，或有多達32萬人申請並抵達英國。換句話說，政府預咗約0.75% - 4.6% BNO簽證持有人，可能需要房屋支援，比例遠較全英格蘭平均約17%低得多。
